Just when everybody thought Aubrey Graham was the softest rapper out, maybe they will need to take a closer glance at the rapper’s quietly taken actions. Always throwing up some sort of hand sign in his pictures and using the number 6 in all his promotions, what’s really going on? If you look at the OVO bosses’ recently co-signed act of Smoke Dawg and Puffy L’z, it may just have become clearer.
What is the 6-god and how is Toronto ‘the 6’?
Quientin Miller is from Zone 6 in Atlanta and he allegedly the first to say ‘running through the 6 with my woes!’ The demo track he produced for Aubrey was leaked to the internet by DJ Funkmaster Flex, in conjunction with DJ Drama possibly. However, Drake used his global, vocal marketing power to own the phrase and apply it to Toronto.
Drizzy also calls himself the ‘6 god.’ It would imply he has all the force in his city and controls life and death, to some extent.
Why does the ‘Views’ rapper use the 6 so much?
Due to Drake’s now clearer affiliation to Halal Gang rappers Puffy L’z, Smoke Dawg, and formerly Mo-G… It may be a low-key statement that the Crip gang run the streets of Toronto. If fans pay attention to the hand sign Drizzy throws up, it’s strikingly similar to the Tiny Rascal Gang sign, which has even been noticed by members of the international mob on instagram.
With Puffy L’z recent video “RiRi,” it’s definitely clear their is Crip gang power behind Drake [ see video here ]. What makes it different than most American rappers, these entities on the OVO label are international acts from Ethiopia, Jamaica, and more. Their ties could run stronger internationally in foreign Folk and Crip gangs.
Perhaps this is why rappers are not running up on Drizzy after all the talk. Mo-G and Quentin Miller have both suffered to the hands of violence since attempting to assassinate Drake’s character.
