Nicki Minaj may have retired from the hip-hop music scene but she remains an important idol to millions.
Although she’s more focused on her growing family than making new music, she’s still staying involved in the industry by showing her love and support.
Recently, Nicki sent a heartfelt message to American born Nigerian Afrobeats artist Davido after his latest album did very well.
‘A Better Time’, Davido’s newest album is a huge hit with fans – 12 hours after it was dropped on 13 November, the album boasted more than a million streams.
Nicki had to congratulate the album – on which she features – and show Davido some appreciation.
Taking to Instagram, the former queen of rap said:
Congratulations @davido!!! ♥️ #HolyGround#ABetterTime#Naija to the WORLD!!!!
Davido’s album is loaded with awesome features that include Nas, Chris Brown and Young Thug.
Nicki features on the track ‘Holy Ground’ and she is apparently just as proud of the collab as Davido.
‘Holy Ground’ is a tribute to their respective lovers by the two musicians and it is a heartfelt and beautiful song.
In the song, they praise their lovers and express happiness at the comfort and happiness they enjoy with them.
The song is a favorite with fans and it only happened because Davido got drunk and mustered up the courage to send Nicki a message.
He woke up the next morning, remembering what he did the previous night and thought nothing would come of it.
However, Nicki was all for it and now we have ‘Holy Ground’. When he got to share the happy news with fans, Davido expressed his feelings by saying he loves Nicki.
After giving the song a listen, who can blame him for getting so excited?
Nicki Always Supported Nigeria
This isn’t the first time that Nicki has shown that Nigeria has a special place in her heart.
After innocent protestors were shot at the Lagos Lekki Toll Gate by security officials, the prolific hip-hop star expressed her dismay at what happened.
Then, in response to ongoing attacks by the terrorist group Boko Haram, Nicki also spoke out.
She does not like to see what Nigerians have to go through and uses her public platform to make sure the world remembers what happens in this country.
Nicki joined thousands of others who were supporting the #EndSARS movement.
“Standing with & praying for the brave young people of Nigeria who are on the front lines of this senseless violence. Your voice is being heard. 🇳🇬 #EndSARS.”
The movement is in response to the horrific police brutality that is claiming many innocent lives in Nigeria.
